Keeping it Simple

Be assured that any information you provide to Whereis.ie will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page, and we will notify changes via our Twitter and Facebook pages.

Information we Collect

We collect the following information:
  • Email
  • Password

The following information is not mandatory:
  • Name
  • Location

What we do with the Information

Your Email
We use your email for verification purposes. We verify email addresses to aid in the prevention of unwanted material being entered onto the site.

Your Password
Your password is used to authenticate you when you login to the website. The password is also encrypted upon entry. This means that even administrators do not have access to view your password.

Your Name
If provided, we will use your name to personalise your experience. We feel this is a more user friendly approach.

Your Location
If you enter your default location (which can be done on your profile page), you will not have to select a location when you want to search for a business. It should be automatically selected from the dropdown box.

Quite simply, we don't do it. We only use your email for verification purposes. We don't send promotional emails. We don't distribute or sell any information that is provided to us. We feel as though this is a very important point, and we found that other services don't make this point clear enough to their users.
